the "attack" on xmas!

man, this country is absolutely looney-tune these days! it seems like there always has to be something new to fight about and to be intolerant about.
now there are narrow minded people trying to make a big deal about saying "happy holidays" instead of "merry christmas" (god forbid we be tolerant of other people's beliefs and traditions!) and about institutions having secular celebrations of the season, instead of excluding certain members/students/what-have-you.

this is like the church whose ads were not allowed on major TV stations because they actually practice Jesus' teaching of tolerance towards everyone!
I don't know if the media is just trying to make this into a bigger deal than it really is to distract us from the stories that we should be outraged about, as it usually does. But we really have to just lighten up! Nothing is under attack, certainly not religion, which is apparently stronger than ever in this country - especially the lunatic fringe elements! Just enjoy your own traditions and let others enjoy theirs!
Damn, we just need a dose of common sense throughout this country!
