Obama post-convention

Obama, Biden kick off campaign in Pittsburgh

DENVER – Their raucous convention in Denver over, Barack Obama and Joe Biden head to Pittsburgh today to start a Midwest bus tour through Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan.

The goal is to ride the momentum of a convention that culminated with an energetic speech before 84,000 people at Denver's Mile High Stadium.

The Democratic nominee promised to cut taxes for nearly all working-class families, end the war in Iraq and break America's dependence on Mideast oil within 10 years.

Obama says a McCain administration will be four more years of the current Bush White House, and that in November Americans must say "eight is enough."

He's promising to end what he calls eight years of broken politics and "failed policies of George W. Bush."

Again, everyone did a terrific job at last night's convention, culminating with Obama's speech. Since he was trying to lay out his policies a little more, it wasn't quite as rousing as some of his other speeches, but he still had some excellent lines and did a super job overall.

I'm still astounded that anyone does not want change and is even considering continuing the failed bush policies with McCain. But, it was a good touch to have the "common people" speak at the convention and tell their tales of what bush has done to them. Hopefully, that will help more people to relate and understand that this election is about everyone.
