we have to stop following their lead

Yes, once again, the repugs have managed to steer everybody in the direction that they desire. A lot of people see it happening, yet still cannot stop themselves. These vile creatures have hijacked the "debate" so that everyone is talking about Terri Schiavo instead of the innumerable other issues that should be reported.

They are pretty masterful - they manage to take a personal, private, family matter and exploit it to the fullest, in the most disgusting manner possible and even manage to convince the president to cut short his vacation (something he didn't do for ANY other reason - see Americablog for a partial list of disasters that were not important enough) to get involved.

Once again, they try to force government into peoples' private lives and try to overule the courts for their personal gain. It is so sickeningly grotesque that sane people cannot help but comment - literally every single blog today has numerous posts on this issue and little else - while they try to sweep their failures under the rug.

Yesterday was the 2nd anniversary of the start of the Iraqi occupation, and the anti-war demonstrations were completely under-reported, not to mention the fact that the violence there continues unnabated. Tom DeLay has more ethics violations that most people can imagine and he is pontificating on the "right to life" of a brain dead woman. bush continues to try to demolish Social Security. "Jeff Gannon" is ignored. The list is endless...

These evil villians will stop at nothing to keep the American people from learning any truths. Deflection at its finest.

Disgusting.....
