bush shows once again he doesn't give a f'k about anyone!

Bush appoints hardliner Bolton to UN post

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US President George W. Bush appointed John Bolton ambassador to the United Nations, bypassing the Senate where his nomination stalled amid charges Bolton would hurt US global credibility.
---
Opposition Democrats had used procedural delaying tactics to block a confirmation vote on Bolton, who can now serve at the world body until a new US Congress convenes in January 2007 after elections in November 2006.
---
"It only diminishes John Bolton's validity and leverage to secure America's goals at the UN," Kerry said in a statement. "This is not the way to fill our most important diplomatic jobs."

Senator Chris Dodd, a senior Democrat on the foreign relations committee, said "the president has done a real disservice to our nation by appointing an individual who lacks the credibility to further US interests at the United Nations."

---
So this way bush doesn't have to reveal all of the documents that were requested on Bolton, so nothing more embarassing has to come out.
At least the world knows that a majority of Americans, even our leaders, do not agree with this confirmation. We'll see if that makes any difference in the long run...
Since Bolton has gone on record saying that he doesn't believe that the UN exists, I wonder if he thinks he really accepted a job, or if its all just imaginary playtime with bush!
