bush tries to screw Nevada again!

What does bush have against this state? He's doing his damnest to have the country's nuclear waste sent here, despite the fact that it has been proven to be unsafe to do so, and now this! And this state actually went to bush in the election! Just how dumb are people?!

Land Sale Money Could Be Diverted From Nevada

(Las Vegas, NV) -- Millions of dollars from Clark County federal land sales could be diverted from the state, as part of a deficit reduction plan. The "Review-Journal" says the proposal will be included in President Bush's proposed federal budget next week.

Under a 1998 law, profits from BLM land sales now go toward various projects in Nevada, such as environmental restoration and recreational projects. The administration would ask Congress to change the law, so that the money would go into the federal treasury.

It's estimated at least $700 million a year could go to the government. Nevada Senator John Ensign says the state will fight the proposal, while Senator Harry Reid accused the Bush administration of stealing money from the Silver State.

So, he hopes to reduce the deficit that he caused by stealing from profitable states! Because, of course, he can't reduce the tax breaks to the rich, can he?!
