FDA says FU to USA
Since Bush has taken office the Food & Drug Administration has been sleeping on the job. The agency that was created to protect you and me from, among other things, harmful drugs by greedy pharmeceutical companies has been pretty much doing the opposite since our friend Bushy got in office.
In the past four years, the Food and Drug Administration has taken a noticeably less aggressive approach toward policing drugs that cause harmful side effects, records show, leading some lawmakers, academics and consumer advocates to complain that the agency is focusing more on bolstering the pharmaceutical industry than protecting public health.
Apparently all of the 59 million people that voted for Bush are super healthy and don't have to worry about taking any prescription drugs that might get rid of their allergies and give them heart failure at the same time. But this is still something the rest of us have to worry about.
Every single decisive act the Bush administration has taken since 2000 has been in the best interests of corporations and not that of the American people.
John Lennon was right when he said, "living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see." I know it's not easy to come to terms with a government that is constantly giving you the shaft. I know that it's easier to believe that it's still all Leave it to Beaver and Donna Mills out there and that we can play stupid and trust our government to do what's right for the people, but that's just not the case anymore.
The evidence is overwhelming, we just have to figure out how to get people to open their eyes and see it.

Why are our politicians so bold and unashamed about completely dicking over the American people?
Telling consumers where their meat, fruit and vegetables came from seemed such a good idea to U.S. ranchers and farmers in competition with imports that Congress two years ago ordered the food industry to do it. But meatpackers and food processors fought the law from the start, and newly emboldened Republicans now plan to repeal it before Thanksgiving.
The most telling quote in this article though is this one by the GOP's whipping boy Roy Blunt:
"I can't find any real opposition to doing exactly what we want to do here," Blunt said.
No real opposition? How about the American farmers and ranchers that want the law passed? How about the American public that deserve to know where the food they are buying is coming from?
That quote goes deeper than repealing this law though, it's exactly what the Republicans feel about anything they want to do right now. They have no qualms about pushing their religious/corporate agenda through as fast and as much as they can until 2006.
