"life goes on" my ass!
I keep reading blogs saying "life goes on", "the sun will still shine tomorrow", "Armageddon did not happen", etc etc etc....BULLSHIT! If people honestly don't think that this is the single worst thing that could possibly happen to the American people (and the world) - the loss of health, of our basic rights, the destruction of our environment and the economy, the loss of respect in the world, the endless wars, the lack of safety, and on & on & on - then they just haven't been paying attention!
I am FAR more terrified today than I was on September 12, 2001. It doesn't even come close! I knew that there was a miniscule likelihood of any terrorist ever personally hurting me, but the lunatics that are the prez & VP affect my every day life.
They will also assure that we will be attacked again, because of their insane views of the world. They are destroying our economy. They could care less about the environment. They are already taking away the rights of every American. They will start war after war after war and murder thousands of more people. They will continue to reward big businesses and shit on the little people. They will ensure that we never have any allies in the world again, no matter what happens to us. They will continue to lie, steal and cheat every one of us. They are evil, evil, evil...
And the basic American seems to respond positively to this! They ate up every lie and asked for more! They loved the vile, viscous attacks on the Democrats and the more ludicrous the assertion, the more credibility they gave it.
The problem seems to be that the Dems tried to stick to the issues and the facts and not go on a wild, baseless smear campaign - apparently truth is too boring for the average person. It doesn't matter what their own senses tell them - they will believe what the want to believe or what the powers-that-be want them to believe.
We are becoming more scarily conservative than we were in the 50's. People do not seem to want the rights and freedoms that so many people have fought for. We need to be challenging the loonies' decisions at every chance. We have let the shrub have a free reign for 4 years. Now we need to stand up for ourselves, or simply curl up and let them destroy us.
Sorry, but i am angry, depressed and utterly disappointed in this country....
