Illinois AG threatens to act soon against governor

CHICAGO – Illinois' attorney general on Thursday threatened to go to the state Supreme Court to have embattled Gov. Rod Blagojevich declared unfit to hold office if he doesn't resign soon or get impeached by the Legislature.

Meanwhile, President-elect Barack Obama said that neither he nor members of his staff were involved in making a deal with the disgraced governor. He called on Blagojevich to resign.

Blagojevich, who ignored calls to resign and went to work on Wednesay, left his house Thursday morning without answering reporters' questions.

Dude, just leave already. You've disgraced yourself and your party. No one wants you around. Yes, it sucks, but it's your own damn fault.

Obama says he's 'appalled' by Blagojevich

CHICAGO – President-elect Barack Obama said Thursday he didn't discuss his vacant Senate seat with disgraced Gov. Rod Blagojevich and said he's confident nobody on his staff did either. Calling bluntly for the Illinois Democrat to resign, Obama told a news conference: "I was as appalled and disappointed as anyone."
