16 people killed in suicide attack in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - A provincial governor says a suicide bomb killed 16 people in front of a mosque in southwest Afghanistan.

The governor of Nimroz province says the suicide bomber attacked as men were getting ready for the evening prayer Thursday at the mosque in the provincial capital of Zaranj.

He says a district police chief and border reserve police commander were killed. More than 30 civilians were wounded.
