I think it was someone over at Daily Kos who admitted that the Iraq war was, in a way, bin Laden's idea, in that bush reacted exactly as bin Laden could have only hoped in his wildest dreams. bush took the good will and sympathy of the world and threw it all away by attacking a country that had nothing to do with anything that we were involved in and created more terrorists than bin Laden ever could on his own. Our military is tied up in an unending war and we can't even save our own cities (such as New Orleans) much less protect ourselves from any serious attack on our country.
Our economy is in tatters, our civil rights are gone, our country is an embarassment, and our people live in fear of our own government.
I can't imagine bin Laden even imaging any better results than what he has achieved.
