what a surprise!

Poll: 59 Percent of Americans Say U.S. Made Mistake in Going to War in Iraq

That polling...found that 59 percent of adults say the United States made a mistake in going to war in Iraq _ the highest level yet in AP-Ipsos polling to say that. Approval of President Bush's handling of Iraq dipped to 33 percent _ the lowest level yet on that measure in the poll.

Bush's overall job approval remained at 33 percent _ still at the lowest level of his presidency.

Among the poll's other findings:

_More than half, 54 percent, said it's unlikely that a stable, democratic government will be established in Iraq _ the highest number in AP-Ipsos polling to express such doubts about Iraq's future.

_Only 68 percent of Republicans, 57 percent of white evangelicals and 41 percent of self-described conservatives _ key groups in Bush's base of support _ approve of his handling of Iraq.

_Just 69 percent of Republicans, 62 percent of white evangelicals and 58 percent of conservatives believe it's likely that a stable, democratic government will be established in Iraq.

Like I always say, its good to know that people are finally waking up, but, what took them so long? Its not like we didn't know all this years ago! Its such a shame (to put it mildly!) that we had to destroy both Iraq and America before the public started to realize what our government was doing.
Hopefully, we will still be able to recover from this disaster of a presidency.
