more body armor controversy

Army Bans Use of Privately Bought Armor
WASHINGTON - Soldiers will no longer be allowed to wear body armor other than the protective gear issued by the military, Army officials said Thursday, the latest twist in a running battle over the equipment the Pentagon gives its troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Do they really not get the concept that if they supplied the troops with proper armor then the troops would not have to buy inferior product on their own?
These people are just trying to stay alive and the bush administration is certainly not helping!
"Supporting the troops", my ass!
