why should we believe that they'll obey the law now?

WASHINGTON - A federal judge ordered the Bush administration on Thursday to release documents about its warrantless surveillance program or spell out what it is withholding, a setback to efforts to keep the program under wraps.

We already know that the administration has broken the law in doing these warrantless wiretaps, so why should they obey now? What's to stop them from continuing in their "we're in charge, we can do anything we want" defense?
