HANGU, Pakistan - A suicide bombing ripped through a Shiite Muslim procession
Thursday in northwestern Pakistan, sparking riots during the Muslim sect's most
important holiday. At least 27 people were killed and dozens injured in the
violence, officials said.

Five Killed in Shiite-Sunni Clash
KABUL, Afghanistan - Hundreds of Shiite Muslims and Sunnis clashed in a western Afghan city Thursday during an important Shiite festival, exchanging fire, hurling grenades and burning mosques, officials said. At least five people were killed and 51 injured, a doctor said.
