unchecked violence continues in Iraq

Suicide Bomber Kills 32 at Iraq Funeral
BAGHDAD, Iraq - A suicide bomber killed 32 mourners and wounded dozens at a funeral for the nephew of a Shiite politician, one of several attacks Wednesday across Iraq that killed a total of 53 people — making it the deadliest day since the Dec. 15 elections.

I heard about these attacks on the news this morning, and I kept thinking "is it a milestone that these attacks are the deadliest in less than 3 weeks?!" Is that the best that we can hope for?! Considering the fact that the US has now said flat-out that it will not pay for the destruction that we have ravaged upon this country, you would think that we would strive for better than 3 weeks without horrific violence. Of course, there has been numerous attacks in that time, just nothing this terrible.
