new media matters

Just too many distortions and lies for me to spread over several posts. Here's a number of recent Media Matters stories to boggle the mind!

When Universal Press Syndicate (UPS), which syndicates right-wing pundit Ann Coulter's weekly columns, reportedly* removed a race-based attack on Hearst Newspapers columnist and White House correspondent Helen Thomas from Coulter's February 24 column, it would not have been the first time a Coulter column was cleaned up prior to publication. While the syndicate did not edit Coulter's reference to "oily Jews" in an October 20, 2004, column, at least two publications removed it before printing her column.

Right-wing pundit Ann Coulter called the Democratic Party "a party that supports killing, lying, adultery, thievery, envy."

There is obviously no thought behind these outrageous statements, but incredible that she describes the repubs, then says that she is talking about dems! She then calls Alan Colmes a liar! See Crooks and Liars for the video. Pretty amazing that even she has the balls to call someone else a liar, right after lying!

Universal Press Syndicate (UPS), which syndicates right-wing pundit Ann Coulter's weekly column, did not distribute a version of her February 24 column that referred to Hearst Newspapers columnist Helen Thomas as "that old Arab Helen Thomas." Instead, UPS sent out an edited version of the column to its clients, which referred to Thomas instead as "that dyspeptic, old Helen Thomas." But the version posted on Coulter's personal website, which includes the race-based attack, is nevertheless marked: "Copyright 2005 Universal Press Syndicate." Thomas is of Lebanese descent.

Syndicated columnist and CNN host Robert Novak again misquoted Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean in order to assert that Dean believes the Bush administration's claim that Social Security is in crisis. Novak first made this false claim on the February 26 edition of CNN's The Capital Gang.

Gary Bauer claimed Republicans too "gentlemanly" to block judicial nominees

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....
---
In Afghanistan, Limbaugh lectured students on importance of "truth" in journalism

Now c'mon, he CAN'T be serious!!!!!

These are just a few of the stories that Media Matters has come up with in the last few days. They are a must view site!
It seems as if the only requirements there are to be a repub is to be able to lie outrageously with a straight face and make things up on the spot! They don't even TRY to be believable!
