so, the repugs continue to ignore this disaster, and continue to lie about the infamous "stingy" quote. as we have seen, the american people have raised an enormous amount of money - probably more than our government - which proves how generous the people can be, even while the government is penny-pitching when it comes to saving lives. the lies about the "stingy" comment are amazing - obviously, the governments WERE being very stingy with their first pledges, but the comment was aimed at the governments, not the people. some people just want to start fights about everything!

Ah yes, the GOP family values parade (charade) continues. The Democratic National Committee Web site has an appeal for donations to tsunami victims right up at the top of the DNC home page. The Republican National Committee Website doesn't even mention the disaster, though it does have a lovely story about President Bush, inappropriately titled "Rising Tide."
